End Racism ^MT

The National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE) is participating in the EU co-funded project led by the Human Rights Directorate (HRD) titled Towards the Implementation of an AntiRacism Strategy for Malta (END-RACISM-MT). The NCPE’s role in this project is to provide its perspective as a national equality body on the design and implementation of policies and strategies to address racism in Malta.

The NCPE has been providing its feedback during the drafting process of each Intra-ministerial AntiRacism Action Plan (IMARAP) by making recommendations on how planned anti-racist measures can be strengthened across the different areas of Government action. The NCPE also participates in the Inter-ministerial Committee Meetings on Anti-Racism during which the drafting and implementation of the Action Plans are discussed.

The implementation of these Action Plans will be aided with the deployment of an Anti-Racism Policymaking Tool that is being developed by the NCPE as part of the project. The Tool will provide public officers with a Step-by-Step Guide on how to mainstream anti-racism in national policies, human resources and service-provision.
